Informal  Dances with Recorded Music

January 14,  2017    March 11,  2017    May 13, 2017*

7:30 to 10:00 P.M.

Village Hall

108 West Main Street, Fairfield, PA

Organizers Norma Calhoun and Wayne Belt invite you to participate in the 19th year of Victorian dancing in Fairfield.  Each monthly dance is an enjoyable social occasion focused on learning the dances and etiquette of the Civil War era.  The dance master and mistress will demonstrate and call each dance.  Elegant dancers and excellent teachers, they enjoy sharing their authentic reconstructions of period dances from original sources.  The informal dances will prepare participants for dancing at the balls in this region. All levels of dancers can participate.

*For the May dance, we encourage (but not require) informal period attire. For the January and March dances, wear modern casual clothes or informal period attire. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes with flexible soles. We discourage wearing sandals, slides, and rubber-soled athletic shoes.  Metal heel plates are not allowed on the dance floor.

Light refreshments will be served.  The cost is $10 per person, payable at the door.

Fairfield is located about 8 miles southwest of Gettysburg on PA Route 116.   The Village Hall is in the middle of Fairfield on PA Route 116/Main Street, across the street from Metz Hardware. Park on the street in front, or in the lot behind the building.
